Stena Sessan invests in Airpelago

Stena Sessan invested in the Swedish drone inspection company Airpelago in January 2026. As part of the investment, Stena Sessan becomes one of the company’s larger institutional shareholders and takes a seat on the board of directors. The investment is part of Stena Sessan’s strategy of investing in a diversified portfolio of companies that have the potential to develop and grow for generations to come.

Airpelago provides automated inspections of power lines using drones. The company was founded in 2018 with the vision of replacing traditional helicopter inspections with a safer and more sustainable solution that over time reduces maintenance costs, strengthens grid resilience, and lowers the risk of power outages through proactive operations. The company has its own software platform for project management, drone automation, data visualization, and analytics.

To date, Airpelago has inspected more than 140,000 kilometers across Europe with over 100 certified drone pilots.
